Sharing Good News with Tourists

Many thousands of tourists visit rural chureches each year.  In addition local people who might not normally attend services call in to spend a few moments in quiet and sometimes in prayer.

The Rural Evangelism Network has been working with the Christian Enquiry Agency and Lifewords who were originally designing something for tourists visiting Cathedrals.  The material now available is of superb quality and just as appropriate for rural churches.

Each of the Prayer Cards has an attractive cover and follows a specific theme. The card illustrated to the left is a "Prayer for Peace". On the inside left page it reads "I wish there was more peace. Sometimes when we look at the conflict in the world we feel so helpless. The prophet Isaiah wrote despairingly about the violent society around him.  There follows a quotation from Isaiah 59.  On the next page is a simple prayer for peace.

A third page forms a freepost post card.  On one side the picture from the front cover is repeated.  On the reverse there is a simple form fopr an enquirer to complete. It is addressed to the Christian Enquiry Agency and can be used either as it is or put into an envelope onto which the freepost address has been written.
