New Children's Work Training Manual
The first print run of this great resource for children's workers has sold out well within the first 12 months. Rural Sunrise is now reprinting the book. While the word "Training" is in the title this is a resource that would prove useful to anyone who has been at the job for years and years.
Monica Cook has always set high standards for Christian ministry to children. She also holds strongly to the fact that Christian children should be treated just the same as adults when it comes to most aspects of discipleship. But often they are treated as less significant and we still occasionally hear that dreadful phrase, "the church of tomorrow". Monica argues for them being part of the church of today, needing appropriate teaching and pastoral care, and with potential for the service of God.
As an experienced educationalist Monica brings structure to the programmes she runs, but she always makes sure that they are 100% relevant for children and enjoyable. To this end she mixes in all kinds of activities that fit the theme and the teaching outcomes. All of this is distilled into this publication. If you are a Christian working with children then this could well prove the best £15 you ever spent.
