What is Rural Sunrise

Rural Sunrise is a unique approach to the challenge of rural evangelism in the UK.  While the role of specialist evangelistic agencies is very important they do not possess between them sufficient resources for post-Christian rural Britain to be re-evangelised.  It is estimated that their combined work reaches only 2% of the rural population. 

But almost every rural community has a local church.  The challenge is transforming churches in survival mode into churches in mission service mode.   Based on the premise that the local village church is the primary instrument for evangelism, two gifted and experienced staff members have developed processes that enable small rural churches to engage effectively in mission.

Rural Sunrise does not promote  its own programme or seek to "sell" a pre-designed mission package.  We believe that just as God has a unique role for everty individual Christian, so it follows that each local church - made up of Christians with a unique role - also has a unique role to discover.

Drawing on many years of experience working with churches from various traditions in a wide variety of rural locations across the UK, and employing teaching and enabling skills they can help churches understand and engage with God's mission in ways that are tailored to the local situation.
