THE UK NATIONAL RURAL EVANGELISM NETWORK

The Rural Evangelism Network provides a national forum for sharing knowledge and experience in rural evangelism to encourage best practice.

The Rural Evangelism Network draws together practitioners, researchers, trainers, writers and lecturers  in the field of rural evangelism.  It was established in 1982 (then known as The Federation for Rural Evangelism) to provide an opportunity for all involved in rural evangelism to share their insight and experiences and learn from one another.

Members are drawn from three groups:

• Churches or Denominations are represented at national level,
• Churches or Denominations are also reprented at regional level (e.g. a diocese, association, or synod), 
• Evangelistic Agencies whether wholly or partly active in rural evangelism and other organisations that resource and enable rural evangelism.

Each member may appoint two representatives.

Over the years the Network has organised a large number of useful conferences and has published or contributed to the publishing of books, papers, articles, etc. The Network has also provided evidence to other bodies and has, on occasions, spoken on behalf of its members on matters of mutual concern. However, it is through the individual members' resources that most of the good work goes on from day to day.

The Network holds an Annual Assembly usually in the Spring, and in the autumn either holds a Conference or hosts special consultations.

 In addition to publishing our own reports and papers we share in the publication of "Country Way". Membership of REN automatically includes a subscription to this magazine.
